How to Host an Outdoor Corporate Event in NC at a Venue with Natural Beauty and Privacy

Getting a team out of the office is the easy part. Finding a spot in North Carolina that is genuinely private, easy on the eyes, and set up to run a real working day is harder. That is the gap we built Big R Orchards to fill. We sit on top of Brushy Mountain on 150 acres that have been in the Robinson family for three generations, and the whole property is yours when you book it. Here is how we would help you put an outdoor corporate event together here.

Hosting a Private Outdoor Corporate Event on Brushy Mountain

An outdoor corporate event works best when the setting handles part of the job for you. On our mountain, the privacy, the lake, and the covered spaces are already in place, so your energy goes into the meeting and the people, not into wrangling the venue. Below is how the property comes together across a working day, from the first session to the evening wind down.

Start with the privacy, because it changes everything

When you meet on our mountain, you are not sharing a lobby, a lot, or a hallway with anyone else. There is no other event next door and no public foot traffic drifting through your session. That kind of quiet is hard to buy in a hotel, and it lets a team actually talk without an audience. Because we sit above the towns around us, it also stays cooler up here than in the surrounding area, which matters when you are keeping people comfortable outdoors.

Let the natural beauty do some of the work

The center of the property is a six-acre private lake fed by six natural springs, with a golf green peninsula that reaches out into the water. The green stays fully shaded for most of the year, so it holds up as a gathering spot even in warm months. Run a morning session on the shore, break for lunch by the water, or move to an evening campfire discussion as the light drops. Working orchards of apple, peach, and nectarine trees surround the space, and there is plenty of wildlife and mountain views to go with it. If a group wants to reset between sessions, they can explore the terrain on nature walks.

Plan the day around your outdoor spaces

A large open field gives you room for outdoor games and team activities when you want people moving. For anything more structured, our 6,000-square-foot covered pavilion anchors the day. It seats groups of 50 to 200 and comes with a floor-to-ceiling fireplace, a glass entryway, and automatic shades, so you can open it to t

he view or close it as needed. Just outside, a 1,760 square foot open-air area strung with lights turns into an easy evening reception once the working hours wrap.

Keep a weather backup in your pocket

Any outdoor plan in North Carolina needs a rain answer, and yours is built in. If clouds move in, the same 6,000 square foot covered pavilion becomes your contingency. With the automatic shades down and the fireplace going, you can pull a session inside without scrambling for a new plan.

Give presentations and breakouts a real home

Take advantage of two spacious suites, each with a large smart TV and comfortable seating. They work well for presentations and for breakout sessions when a smaller group needs to peel off, hash something out, and then rejoin everyone in the pavilion.

Handle food and drink your way

We are not a full-service venue, so we do not cater or arrange florals ourselves. What we do provide is a full prep kitchen your caterer can use to store and prepare meals, with two industrial refrigerators, a food warmer, a large ice maker, and a separate caterer's entrance so deliveries stay clear of your guests. Drinks run through our custom bar, topped with granite and fitted with a kegerator that holds up to four varieties of beer or cider. Because we do not cater, we pass along the contact information for the local vendor partners we trust, so you are never sourcing blind.

Know what comes with the space

Your booking includes the furniture most events need, with 30 round tables, a mix of rectangular and cocktail tables, 200 Chiavari chairs at the pavilion, and 200 white chairs on the green, plus free WiFi across the venue. For anyone who needs help getting around the property, we run a shuttle to and from the ceremony site for elderly and special needs guests. Catering, florals, and your program are the pieces you will line up on your own, and we are glad to point you to our partners for the rest.

Conclusion

The fastest way to see whether your event fits here is to stand on the peninsula and look back at the pavilion. We would be happy to show you around. Contact us or call 336-957-1580, or reach out through our contact form to book a tour and request our pricing guide, and tell us what kind of day you are planning.

FAQs

How private is the venue for a corporate event?

Very. Big R Orchards is a 150-acre family-owned property on top of Brushy Mountain, so your group is not sharing the space with the public or a neighboring event. The mountaintop setting also keeps it quieter and cooler than the surrounding area.

What happens if it rains during an outdoor event?

The 6,000 square foot covered pavilion is your backup. With automatic shades and a floor-to-ceiling fireplace, you can move a session under cover and keep the day on track.

Can we run presentations and breakout sessions here?

Yes. Both suites have a large smart TV and comfortable seating for presentations and smaller breakout sessions, and the pavilion handles the full group when everyone comes back together.

Do you provide catering?

No, we are not a full-service venue. You get a full prep kitchen with two industrial refrigerators, a food warmer, a large ice maker, and a separate caterer's entrance, and we share contact information for the local vendor partners we trust.
